Last weekend, we had our Xi Chi Delta girl’s retreat at a beautiful log cabin in Boonville, Mississippi. Our theme was “loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength”, and we were blessed to have over seventy girls come out for the weekend! We had several devos, lots of hang out time, and many great meals. The best part of the weekend, though, was what happened Saturday night. One of our sweet sisters decided to put on Christ in baptism.
We all loaded up in our cars, drove to the church building, and had a beautiful night together full of tears, hugs, encouraging words, and freedom from our sin.
Having the ability to make choices for ourselves is a beautiful gift from God.
Having the choice to CHANGE is a gift.
Since I’ve been here at Freed Hardeman University, I’ve learned so much. I’ve learned how to love and how to be a true friend. I’ve learned how to pray and how to ask others for encouragement. I’ve learned how to make my faith MY OWN. I’ve learned how to ask questions and how to search for answers. I’ve learned how to close my ears to Satan’s lies and how to protect my mind and heart from the world.
I’m not giving Freed Hardeman all the credit for my change, but I DO know that I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for this school and the people it has brought to my life.
Thank you for this gift.
