Pedagogy 2.0, like its cousin Web 2.0, can often be maligned by those that fail to understand the "2.0" part. The earliest use of Web 2.0 was by Tim O'Reilly in 2004 at the first O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 Conference (http://conferences.oreillynet.com/).
The word cloud below shows Web 2.0-ish terms. In order to keep it simple however, we think of Web 2.0 as the incorporation of collaboration or collaborative technologies.

We are not sure where the term "Pedagogy 2.0" was first used, but it is a term we have used often to describe current pedagogical technologies, especially those collaborative in nature. In particular we use the term when discussing participatory and engaging pedagogical technologies and meeting the challenges of 21st Century education. Pedagogy 2.0 fits our overall goal of enhancing the student experience and the student learning outcomes. The word cloud below explains our concept on Pedagogy 2.0.
