Accommodations

Lodging
CTS residents have two on-campus housing options:

Sewell Hall

Sewell is the newest dorm on campus. In addition to a quiet study room, there is a large activities room on the second floor with lounge furniture, plasma televisions, pool tables and a fully-equipped kitchen.  The dormitory rooms are $110 for a private room, and $80 with a roommate, per person.

Tyler and Woods East

Tyler or Woods East housing has 4 private bedrooms (1 twin bed per room); residents share 2 bathrooms with common kitchen and living room areas. The apartment-style cost $120 per person for the week. We will try to honor each request so signify the housing style you prefer. Housing requests are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

Dorm Parents
The CTS Dorm Parents will make you feel at home the entire week. They will assist you in the day-to-day life in the dorm.

What to Bring & Wear
Bring a pillow, twin bed linens, and towels and toiletries for the week. Dress for the week will be informal.

Food
CTS participants arrange their own meals. Wallace-Gano Cafeteria is located conveniently on campus and there are places to eat in Henderson and nearby Jackson.

If you're from out of state, you should try our famous Chester County smoked pork BBQ during your stay.

Cost

Registration cost for the full week of activities is $80 per person. This includes your CTS registration packet, speakers for classes and seminars, some class materials, breakfast at President Wiley's home, and the Closing Supper.

Please note there is a $25 refundable key deposit that must be paid at registration.

Childcare

We now have several opportunities for those with children (the fee per child is $30):

  • A youth program is provided for children ages 6-9. Activities and classes will be interesting, well-planned, and well-staffed. The youth program runs from 8:30-11:30 am and 1:30-4:30 pm each day.
  • Childcare will be available for ages 2-5. This will be available from 8:30-11:30 am and 1:30-4:30 pm each day. (Children must be potty trained.)
Youth ages 9-18 may choose to attend Freed-Hardeman University's Mid-South Youth Camp. Contact Frank Bradford at 731-989-6987 or go to the MSYC website at www.fhu.edu/msyc for more information.
