This year our theme is "Really?" We will focus on finding what is real in life and in one's relationship with God. Satan and the world give us daily doses of their version of reality, but we will use the Bible to guide us through the maze of lies to find God's truth, and to discover what is real.
Horizons is a week-long spiritual experience for Christian leaders in grades 7-12 held each summer on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University. This year we'll be celebrating our 32nd year the week of July 1-6, 2012.
It's been an incredible 31 years of impacting young leaders, and the focus that created the program continues to this day as we strive to build an encouraging environment that works to equip young church leaders.
Horizons is directed by Doug Burleson and Kirk Brothers. They are assisted by Kim Cook, Chris Creecy, Jennifer Creecy, Kay Pack, Ray Pack, Billy Smith, Nicole Young and an excellent staff of more than 100 counselors and teachers.
Each day is filled with exciting classes, activities, games, group discussions and more. This year you'll even have the oportunity to take part in real-life service projects.
Each night you'll hear dynamic speakers and worship with other Christian teenagers like yourself. You'll get to spend time at the coffee house, play ball or join in on any of the other countless activities that you won't want to miss. Exciting New Addition: This year we are going to have a special transition ceremony on Thursday night for all our seniors.
Daily classes provide insight and excellent instruction on Christian leadership, service, spiritual growth and current issues. They are designed to equip and inspire leaders like you. There will also be opportunities to do community service and receive school credit for it.
