This past weekend was Freed-Hardeman University's 35th year of Makin' Music, and this year's show was dedicated to those who began the great tradition we still enjoy so much today. The six social clubs presented wonderful shows that were all delighfully entertaining, and the Hosts and Hostesses once again showcased some of the greatest vocalists Freed-Hardeman has to offer. As a further testament to the talent and dedication of everyone involved in Makin' Music this year, each club won at least one award for their show. The Sweepstakes awards went to:

Xi Chi Delta - Second

Phi Kappa Alpha - Third

Professional actor and associate producer, Michael Detroit, was on campus to give students advice for creating the perfect audition.

Dr. J. Walker Whittle, vice president emeritus of Freed-Hardeman University, was the Master of the Bell, Thursday, August 25, when the university officially opened the 2012 school year with the annual Tolling of the Bell.
