The university, in conjunction with M2D/element design, has created a campus master plan which calls for additional green space and a pedestrian-friendly campus with parking primarily on the out-lying parts of campus.
The plan includes a project list for both demolition and construction projects to occur over a period of years, as well as improvements to buildings and grounds and repurposing of some structures. The overall objective is to make the campus a more beautiful, safe environment for students.
One of the first projects in the plan was the demolition of Bader Gym and the construction of an oval lawn, a major new focal point for the center of campus. Upon completion, the campus will be green from Wallace-Gano Dining Hall to Loyd Auditorium.
