Major in Electronic Media

Employment opportunities for people with electronic media planning, production and performance skills are not restricted to the traditional fields of broadcasting and advertising. The use of audio and video media to communicate has permeated a wide range of industries and organizations: education, medicine, politics, churches and more.

Students majoring in Electronic Media have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all facets of audio and video production: staff/crew positions, on-air talent, and leadership through student directorship positions. Realistic, creative, and challenging learning experiences occur both within the classroom and through co-curricular activities. Freed-Hardeman’s “FHn” television station includes facilities for multi-camera studio production, field-remote production, and computer-based non-linear editing. Freed-Hardeman’s 10,000 watt FM radio station, “WFHU,” allows students to participate in live studio shows, field-remotes and computer-based multi-track audio production.
