Art

With a major in art - and optional emphasis in graphic design or interiors - you will prepare for a broad choice of careers: painter, photographer, sculptor, graphic designer, interiors or art educator, just to name a few.  Our art faculty has what it takes to help you develop creative thinking skills within your individual style.  Field lab courses allow for practical interaction and networking with graphic and interior design professionals, while guest artists and visits to important exhibits provide exposure to some of the best in the field.  As an art student, you will have frequent opportunities to show your work in both off- and on-campus venues, including the campus' Troy Plunk Gallery, which hosts local, regional and national artists.  First-place honors at state and regional shows are not uncommon among our students and faculty.
