Major in Kinesiology

The Kinesiologymajor is designed more for those who desire to teach in the K-12 schoolsystems. In Tennessee, the licensure allows a person to teach either atthe elementary or at the secondary level.

The Department currently has two minors - Kinesiology and Health.The Kinesiology minor can be added as an additional endorsement to afirst licensure major, allowing the graduate to teach physicaleducation after passing the appropriate PRAXIS tests. All FHU undergraduates have to meet the General Educationrequirements prior to graduation. The HHP Department requires specificcourses to meet these requirements. Follow this General Education link to see these courses.

Those students who are seeking licensure to teach must also meet therequirements as set forth by the School of Education.
