The Fastest Woman Alive

by Karen Sunde

Directed by Alaina Smith

Thursday, August 28 from 7-10 p.m.

Black Box Theatre

Plot: “The need for speed” kept the unrivaled Jackie Cochran soaring through life at a supersonic rate. She was the first woman to break the sound barrier; she battled the military to create WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), 1,000 women who risked their lives flying more than 75-million miles while testing and ferrying every military aircraft flown in World War II. She was named Business Woman of the Year, became a soul-mate to both Amelia Earhart and Chuck Yeager, and to this day she holds more flight records than any man or woman who ever lived. Her story will shake up the Black Box Theatre. Plot Details

Loyd Auditorium

Plot: In a sleepy fishing village on the Mediterranean, two working-class families clash over grievances long forgotten. In the midst of conflict, a pair of teenagers-- “star-crossed” and “fortune fooled” -- struggle to build a life together. Shakespeare’s best-known play takes center stage in November. Directed by Cliff Thompson.

Roles for 18 M and 4W (doubling and gender-blind casting probable)

Performance Dates: November 5, 6, 8 in Henderson. November 13-15 in Dickson

Contact R Cliff Thompson for details.

Prepare a monologue of 12 lines from a play by Shakespeare. Doesn't have to come from Romeo and Juliet. The lines must be performed from memory.

Check out Shakespeare Monologues, a cool online source for monologues from the Bard's plays.

Audition will also include cold readings from the script. I'll post the scenes here.

NOTE: You don't have to attend Both Auditions to be cast. AND Interface and Club Activities may be missed to audition.
