The department offers baccalaureate majors in chemistry and in physical science. A minor in chemistry is also offered. The department offers two options in pre-engineering: the standard two-year pre-engineering curriculum, or a dual degree program in which the student may receive a bachelor's degree with a major in physical science from Freed-Hardeman and a degree in engineering from an approved school of engineering after the successful completion of the prescribed curricula at both schools. The dual degree is a 3-2 program, including three years at Freed-Hardeman and two years at an approved school of engineering. Freed-Hardeman has dual degree affiliations with Auburn University, University of Memphis, Oklahoma Christian University of Arts & Sciences, Tennessee Technological University, the University of Tennessee, and Vanderbilt University. Transfer arrangements, however, are not limited to these universities.
