We have a growing CS program at FHU. The faculty are knowledgeable and personable. Our courses cover all the essential CS topics and advanced subjects like web development, databases, and operating systems. Our graduates go on to work in the software development industry as well as the IT field.
We have compiled the top 5 reasons to consider Computer Science at FHU:
1. You get to be a geek.
If you haven't heard, being a geek is not a bad thing. In fact, geek is chic. We have prime-time TV shows (Chuck) and very stylish magazines (Wired).
2. You get to make magic.
Arthur C. Clarke, the science fiction writer said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” CS is about creating that magic. We get to take an idea that seemed absurdly impossible a few years ago and make it come to life.
3. You get to find a job.
CareerBuilder.com listed Computer Programmer as one of its 25 best jobs for 2009, listing an average salary of over $59,000/year.
4. You get to create.
CS allows you to experience “the sheer joy of making things”. Computer science offers you the ability to create with your mind in a medium that’s intangible.
5. You get to help people.
A last reason to consider CS is that you get the pleasure of making things that are useful to other people. Studying computer science can help you to make a positive difference in the world.
This degree provides students the foundation to go on to graduate school or to work as database administrators, network administrators, systems analysts, or software developers in the growing field of technology. Students with this degree have gone on to work at Dynetics, Lockheed Martin, Integraph, and HCA Healthcare.
Current students are encouraged to join and participate in the Math and Computer Science Club. For more information, please contact Jamie Holtin at
