Alistare Cooke called New York City - the greatest collection of villages in the world. Each year, students, faculty and friends of FHU travel to the Big Apple to get a taste of the city and its wonders. The group enjoys New York theatre performances, tours of prominent entertainment facilities and workshops with theatre professionals.
The 2015 trip took place in January. We flew out of Nashville, spent five nights in a midtown Manhattan hotel, saw Into the Woods, Aladdin, Wicked, and Blue Man Group as a group, and toured the 911 Memorial and Museum. We also enjoyed an evening at Ellen's Stardust Diner and a talk-back session with the Wicked cast. All this for a very reasonable price.
There's much more to do too! See shows like Wicked, The Lion King, or Stomp. Enjoy great shopping and good food. Visit the Statue of Liberty, China Town, historic Harlem... Make the trip your own.
You can also receive college credit for the trip. Enroll in the January short course, THE299A/399A New York Theatre Survey to learn all about Manhattan history, musical theatre in performance and the shows we'll see.
