Faculty Development Workshop
August 2, 2017
You are invited to attend a Faculty Development Workshop hosted by Freed-Hardeman University Department of Nursing. Our guest presenter is Keith Rischer, RN, a nationally known author, blogger, nurse educator, and staff nurse. The workshop will provide you with strategies and resources to 1) better contextualize theory content to the bedside so students can see why it is relevant, 2) better integrate classroom and clinical instruction, and 3) emphasize clinical reasoning through the curriculum. The workshop will benefit nursing faculty in both classroom and clinical instruction as they strive to better engage students in an effort to improve critical thinking/clinical reasoning.

Keith Rischer, MA, RN, CEN, CCRN
Bio: Keith Rischer, MA, RN, CEN, CCRN is an author, blogger, nurse educator and staff nurse who has practiced for thirty-one years in a wide variety of clinical settings. He currently works in critical care and ED. Defined by his passion for nursing and excellence in education; he is a recognized authority on clinical reasoning and its relevance to nursing practice.
Registration Fee: $50/person
A complimentary lunch will be provided. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the Cybersphere, an iconic feature of the FHU/Dickson campus.
This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
