If you have any questions, please contact your admissions counselor or get in touch with the admissions office by calling 1-800-FHU-FHU1 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Step 1
The first step is to complete the application. It takes only a few minutes to apply online. Remember, at FHU, it's FREE to apply. Applying allows you to receive more personal attention from your admissions counselor, earlier consideration for scholarships and special mailings containing information of specific interest to you.
Freed-Hardeman University accepts the ACT or SAT for scholarship and acceptance purposes. When you take these tests, please request that your scores be sent to FHU by entering the FHU school code, or you may submit an official high school transcript that includes your test scores. The residual ACT is offered on our campus by appointment in the Center for Academic Success. This test is offered to those students who are needing to improve their scores for acceptance. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-FHU-FHU1 and check out the testing policies on-line

After you have submitted your application, request that your high school guidance counselor send an official, three-year high school transcript for acceptance. Initial academic scholarships will be offered based on a three-year transcript, but a complete four-year transcript must be submitted at the conclusion of your senior year. If you have completed 30 or more college credit hours you will be accepted as a transfer student without consideration to ACT/SAT scores or high school transcripts. In this case, have your registrar send an official transcript for acceptance. If you have completed less than 30 college credit hours, send your college transcript along with your high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores.
If you have attended other colleges or universities, you must provide official transcripts for the courses taken. You can contact the registrar at the school or university you attended to have them send us a transcript. If you have fewer than 30 hours of transfer credit, you must also submit a final, high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores.
Dorm requests and assignments are prioritized by the date your housing preference form is received and for those who have submitted their Enrollment Deposit. Housing assignments for new students are made in June prior to your August registration. Those seeking off-campus housing should contact the Office of Student Services to determine eligibility. Please contact the Office of Student Services at email@example.com
for more information.
Every student is a candidate for some type of financial aid. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid allows the university to determine financial need and is the only way to determine eligibility concerning grants, federal loans, FHU scholarships, federal work-study, and most other financial aid options. The earliest date to complete the FAFSA is January 1. This can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
. Any student wishing to apply for federal work study must submit a FAFSA.
The FHU school code for the FAFSA is 003492.
All students are required to complete and submit the Student Health Form. These can be scanned and emailed, mailed, or faxed to FHU at 731-989-6047 (fax) or firstname.lastname@example.org
. American citizens can print off the Student Health Form
, have it signed by physician and return it to the admissions office. If you are applying as an international student, you need to print off the FHU International Student Health Form
and do the same.

An enrollment deposit is required of all Freshmen. This deposit confirms you will be here for the fall term, guarantees you a space in our incoming class, and allows you to set up an appointment for registration. Upon enrollment, this deposit will be assessed as an FHU Complete down payment, which is applied to your first semester bill. Enrollment deposits are due May 1 for the Fall semester and November 1 for the Winter term and/or Spring semester. Deposits received after the deadline are accepted only if space is available in the incoming class which means you may not be able to enroll in the fall if you do not pay your deposit by May 1. Click Here to Pay your Enrollment Deposit.
A campus visit is an extremely important part of finding the school that is the right fit for you, and is the only way to truly understand the unique experience of FHU. To get the most out of your visit, contact the Office of Admissions, as early as possible to schedule an appointment. Special admissions events, planned throughout the year, give a peek at the distinctive characteristics of FHU.
Fall enrolling students are required to participate in a new student registration
date. You may only schedule an appointment to attend after your admissions file is complete and you have paid your enrollment deposit. A complete file includes your application, final four-year high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores and completed Student Health Form
(International Student Health Form
for international students). Attending new student registration does not exclude you from attending Welcome Home, PowerUp, or any Interface activities in the Fall. For a full list of registration dates please visit our Dates and Deadlines
All student accounts must be settled for the semester before the student arrives on move-in day. Student accounts may be settled by ensuring that award letters are accepted online and that all required paperwork has been submitted in order to process student aid. Required paperwork is specific to each student and will be included in the Award Package, along with a checklist that includes information on how and where to file the required documents.
If a student's account is not completely covered with student aid, then a student may choose to set up a payment plan through Tuition Management Systems or make a payment through the Office of Student Accounts with cash, check, or credit card. A student who arrives to move-in on campus with a balance on his or her account will be asked to stop and make payment arrangements through the Office of Financial Aid or the Office of Student Accounts before heading to the dorms to move in.
Arrive on campus and move into your dorm. Dorms will open at 1:00pm and there will be faculty, staff and students to help you move into your room.
Interface is the final step before becoming an FHU student. Small-group activities are scheduled during your first four days on campus. Mixers, Karaoke Night, games, devotionals, canoeing and FHU Night at a Diamond Jaxx baseball game are all part of the week's activities.
