Accomplishments

Since their beginning the Associates have raised and given more than $3 million to the university. Along with membership dues, chapters raise funds by participating in various projects. All Associate chapters cooperatively conduct national projects which include the lectureship kitchen, the homecoming craft fair, a Victorian tea party, and in writing and publishing cookbooks and study books for women’s Bible classes.

In past years the Associates have helped the university provide funds toward the purchase of two buses, a computer system, the radio station, the language laboratory, the Associates’ Science Center, Loyd Auditorium, Gardner Center, a parking lot, chapel seats, library books, printing equipment, softball field, and internet access. Contributions have also been made to the school’s general fund for operation and for building renovations throughout the years.

Presently, the majority of Associate funds goes to fund scholarships each year. An endowed scholarship has also been established by the Associates. All scholarships are awarded through the financial aid office of Freed Hardeman University.
