Lady Lions Fall to Union, End Regular Season as Co-Champs

Henderson, Tenn. – It was the not the end result they had hoped for, but the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion volleyball team went down fighting against rival Union University on Thursday night at the Sports Center. After a hard fought match on senior night, the Lady Lions fell 3-1 to the Lady Bulldogs, putting them in a tie for first place with Martin Methodist College in the TranSouth Conference to end the regular season.

FHU’s Pressnell Named NAIA Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year

Henderson, Tenn. – On April 2, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the NAIA men’s and women’s tennis polls. The No. 4 FHU Lady Lions and No. 7 FHU Lions made a strong showing, boasting five women and six men in the top 50 in singles. Two out of the three FHU women’s doubles teams were ranked in the top 25, while all three men’s doubles teams were ranked in the top 25 as well.

Francisco Redondo took home top honors at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships. The freshman from Zaragoza, Spain finished the season 6th in the nation.
