Head Coach
Jason Elliott

Jason Elliott begins his third season as head coach of the Freed-Hardeman University soccer program. Under Elliott’s direction, the program has shown great improvement over the last two years. In 2002, the Lions and Lady Lions both had improved seasons over 2001. The Lions finished 6-12 while the Lady Lions finished 7-10-1 in 2002 after both teams only managed one win in 2001. Coach Elliott thinks they can continue the improvement in 2003, “last year was exciting for our players to start seeing some of the success that they have worked so hard for. I think that this year’s team will be more talented, more experienced, and more dedicated to achieving our goals.”
Coach Elliott has made a huge mark on the FHU soccer program. While enrolled in school, he was instrumental in starting a traveling club team and raising the interest for an intercollegiate program. He played on the school’s inaugural soccer team in the fall of 2000 which was coached by Chuck Begnaud. Elliott is a 2000 graduate of Freed-Hardeman, earning a degree in Biblical Studies and in the fall of 2002 he earned a Masters degree in Ministry. A native of McPherson, Kansas where he played extensively for school and club teams that traveled throughout the Midwest. A three time all-league first team performer as well as being voted first team all-state twice for Class 5A McPherson High School. His high school team played in the state championship “final four” his freshmen, junior and senior seasons. Elliott is married to the former Misti Mason from Covington, Tennessee who is an elementary teacher in Jackson, Tennessee.
