One of the things that make FHU so great is the faculty. These professors who teach at Freed-Hardeman are not only academically qualified with degrees from Harvard, Yale, Vanderbilt, and many other prestigious institutions, but all of our FHU faculty and staff members are faithful Christians. I know that coming from a public high school, it was a very refreshing and different experience to my teachers in the classroom on Friday, and then to join with them in worship or listen to them from the church pulpit on Sunday mornings. It’s very cool to know that your professors share many of the same values that you have, and that those values are being incorporated into your classes to prepare you for your future.
As an added bonus, many of the teachers on campus actually attended FHU as students. They’ve chosen to come back to Henderson to raise their families, to be a part of the FHU family, and to give back to future generations of FHU students. This all contributes to the close-knit, family atmosphere that makes FHU such a special place. While I was a student, my professors were very accessible even after their designated office hours. They gave out cell phone numbers and even invited students into their homes from time to time. There’s not a single professor who I had for class at FHU that doesn’t remember my name, even to this day. That’s a pretty cool feeling.
At FHU you’ll find yourself learning from qualified professors who know your name, share your faith, and care about you as a person. Schedule a campus visit today, and while you’re in Henderson, try to meet with some of our professors who have impacted my life and continue to change the lives of students on a daily basis.
