When I first sat down to blog, I thought I'd had a pretty uneventful summer. Nothing much to write about. When I really broke my summer down, though, I've actually done a lot. Here, I'll show you.
My very first week out of school I went on a National/State Park Road Trip Extravaganza. I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time, along with several other cool parks and sites. Of course, by the end of 9 days I was ready to never be in a car again, but the trip itself was neat. Here's a picture from Zion National Park, which was my favorite stop we made.

Almost immediately after returning from our road trip, I had to start summer school. I was taking a physical science class at a nearby community college to finish up my general education classes and I was not looking forward to it. Much to my surprise... I really enjoyed it! I had a great teacher, met a lot of cool people, and built a working rocket and got to see it launch. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the aforementioned rocket, but it looked almost exactly like this:
Well I finished summer school and got a big shiny A on my transcript. :) When I was done with school my boyfriend Joshua came down to visit me and celebrate my birthday. One of the things we did was go to the zoo, because though I am an adult I still think zoos are thrilling.
To celebrate my birthday Joshua made me a stellar cookie cake, which we decorated ourselves. We weren't the best cake decorators, but the cake was delicious either way and the process was really fun. If nothing else, my birthday cake was original.

The week of my actual birthday I was at E.W.E.S. camp. You don't know what that is, I know. It stands for Equipping Women for Excellent Service and it's a project one of the women at a congregation in my town has been working on for years now. Young women were invited to a week of camp where they learned to be better servants by learning to teach bible classes, throw showers, be evangelical, be good parents and wives, serve their communities and families, and be better students of the Bible. It was a great week. One night after everyone else had gone to sleep some of the older girls and I upheld a camp tradition to have a toga party. It's a tradition that can't be explained if you're not a part of it, but either way... here's a delightful picture to end on.
