Hello, theatre community! I hope everyone went to see last week's show, August Snow. It was enjoyable to both actors and audience members alike!
With August Snow over, the season continues toward the next production - The Heiress.
Here are what some of the cast members have to say as they're getting into the process of creating this year's homecoming show.
"I think the play has very strongly interwoven emotions that flow through each character, and that makes it difficult to play any one character without understanding all the others."
"The layered set is going to be a unique aspect of the play. The way that it is designed, it allows a character to be part of the space, and yet removed from the action in front."
"It's been nice to see how each person and character has progressed since we started rehearsing."
"There is something special about this play, something very bittersweet. It is a character driven piece that does not resolve quite as neatly as a love story would and contains elements of truth that go beyond just the characters and situations."
"I really enjoy the twist at the end and the growth of Catherine's character. I feel like we'll really be able to get into character once we start practicing in period clothes and have a set and props to work with."
"I enjoy working with everyone in the cast! The thing I struggle with most is getting over the nervousness of being in a college play. One of my strengths is that I am quick to learn and I adapt easily to my surroundings."
"As far as the set is concerned, I'm very excited to see it, since it's going to be a very different and unique concept."
As you can tell, everyone is certainly excited and working hard for this production. I encourage everyone to see it homecoming weekend, November 8-10 when it will be performed!
