I went on my first road trip (since I’ve been at FHU) this past weekend with some of my closest freshman girlfriends. We had a fun weekend filled with concerts, home-cooked meals, Alabama football, shopping, and cheesecake. I didn’t get much sleep this past weekend (probably less than 5 hours each night), and when this morning rolled around, I started paying for it big time.
Sore throat. Headache. Gross cough. Aching body. I’m not the type of person that gets sick very often, but when I don’t get enough sleep, getting sick is my body’s way of telling me, “I WILL make you get sleep.” So, I went to the doctor this morning, my sweet, sweet mother brought me some medicine, and I slept the rest of the day away.
It’s been hard adjusting to college life. You definitely don’t get as much sleep as you would like. You spend more money than you have. You get stressed over school. However, it’s all worth it because, when you are here at Freed Hardeman University, you are having the time of your life. You meet people who will change your life forever. You make memories you will never forget, and, most importantly, you grow closer to your God, your creator, your redeemer, and your best friend.
