Makin' Music

In the spring, excitement builds around Freed-Hardeman's campus for the new production of Makin' Music. Our largest student production, Makin' Music is a competition between social clubs where each club writes a seven minute musical by changing the lyrics of popular music to tell their own story.

Each club designs their own costumes, creates their own backdrop, and works tirelessly to put together the best show possible. In between the club shows, our solo Hosts and Hostesses will entertain the crowd, while the emcees provide the laughs and help the show move along. Students also make up the Makin' Music Showband, which accompanies all soloists and helps to give the whole production a concert-style atmosphere.

During Makin' Music weekend, the clubs participate in three performances, with the last performance culminating in the Sweepstakes Trophy. Make plans to attend Makin' Music this year. For more information, please contact Tony Allen at 731-989-6055 or at
