Freed-Hardeman University is firmly committed to creating an excellent on-campus environment for its residential students. Because we believe that the residential experience is an invaluable component of Christian education, all students are required to live on campus unless they are over 23 years of age, have accumulated 126 credit hours, or are married.
Female students can choose between five dormitories. Scott Hall and Dixon Halls are suite style setup in which two bedrooms housing two students each are connected by a shared bathroom. In Bradfield Hall and Hall-Roland Hall, there are community bathrooms on each floor that the students share. Finally, in Porter-Terry Hall the dorm rooms are set up with three bedrooms branching off of a common room with its own bathroom.
Male students can choose between four dormitories. Benson Hall and Sewell Hall, our newest dorm, are set up suite-style, which as mentioned above is the shared bathroom connecting two rooms. Farrow Hall and Paul-Gray Hall are set up with community bathrooms. All student dorms offer lobby space, a community kitchen, and laundry rooms with free washers and dryers. All lobbies and dorm rooms are equipped with wireless internet access and HD cable.
Students with 90 or more hours may apply to live in campus-privileged housing. Tyler Hall (for women) and Woods-East (for men) offer apartment style options for housing. Each apartment is designed to house four students. The layouts include four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a washer and dryer, living room, dining room, and full kitchen.
Hall-Roland Hall is the oldest residence hall on campus. It has the look and feel of a classic college space with the warmth of an old home. Each window offers a unique view of the university, and each room holds a history all its own.

Porter-Terry is the only residence hall on campus that provides a living room area per suite. Each living room is perfect for creating a study area outside of your dorm room or for large late-night gatherings.

Dixon Hall is located in the heart of campus. This is the second oldest women's dorm on campus and also boasts being the first dorm to have washers and dryers back in 1958.

Scott Hall is located close to downtown Henderson and has the most accessible parking. Scott boasts large study rooms and a gigantic lobby with kitchen access for both girls and guys.

Bradfield is known to have the largest rooms on campus and you will find many upperclassmen in this residence hall. This residence hall features large community bathrooms, so you're never waiting in line for a shower.

Farrow Hall is located close to the Sports Center and right next door to Brown-Kopel Business Center, making it very convenient for students, whether they are headed to class or down to the Sports Center for a game of basketball.

If you're looking for a guys' dorm that's in the center of campus, Benson is perfect for you. You'll be close to Loyd Auditorium, Associates Science Center, and even the University Bookstore.

Sewell is the newest dorm on campus. In addition to a quiet study room, there is a large activities room on the second floor with lounge furniture, plasma televisions, pool tables and a fully-equipped kitchen.

Window: W 38" x L 46", 6" deep
Tyler Hall (women) and Woods East Hall (men) were completed in 2004. With only 48 students per building, living in either of these dorms is considered a privilege and honor. Rooms are reserved for students entering their senior year. Each apartment features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, an eat-in kitchen and a laundry closet.
