Support for Teaching and Learning
Teaching and learning are simple words with substantial meaning. Academic excellence in teaching and learning is what each faculty member and student at Freed-Hardeman strives to achieve inside and outside of the classroom.
The Center for Instructional Innovation (CII) supports faculty and students as they employ pedagogical technologies in support of innovative models of teaching and learning with advanced facilities, technology resources, training, along with hands-on support.
The mission of the Center for Instructional Innovation is to promote, support, and demonstrate innovation in teaching and learning. This is accomplished by working with our campus community, performing research, conducting pilot programs and testing new technologies in order to provide faculty and students the latest in knowledge and direction regarding the use of pedagogical technologies.
In addition, CII has been charged with the task of supporting faculty and students as they embrace new and innovative models of teaching and learning, such as Constructivism and Transformative Learning. The adoption of these methods, supported by effective, relevant, and transparent technologies, will help to ensure that Freed-Hardeman offers its students an environment where they may mature as Christian scholars and actively engage in thinking, doing and learning.
