Michael J. Plyler
Director of Web Services
Michael served as a computer science faculty member for the FHU School of Sciences and Mathematics from Fall 2002 through Spring of 2008. His academic areas of expertise include programming languages, database design, and discrete event simulations of wireless sensor networks.
In 2005, he began working part-time with IT designing and implementing the university's first portal site and administrating the school's course management system. In December, 2007 Michael made a permanent move to IT as the University Webmaster. His work with FHU's iKnow Initiative includes development, design, and implementation of the program's mobile applications. With his background in academia and technical expertise, he has also been instrumental in developing methods of integrating technology into the classroom.
Cory is currently a senior from Nashville, TN, planning to graduate in May 2014 with a degree in mathematics and computer science. Initially unsure of his interest, experience has pulled him more towards an interest in web application and website oriented programming. Cory has been involved in the creation of DocuSim for the nursing program, along with VBAC Finder and other various projects with Kenan Casey's research group. He began working in the IT Department in Fall 2013.
