An endowed scholarship fund is an opportunity to establish a permanent legacy at FHU. Endowed scholarships are named scholarship funds that expend income as dictated by the donors. It is permanent because only the interest income from the invested principal amount is expended annually.
How to Establish an Endowed Scholarship:
- To set up an endowed scholarship begins with contacting Blake Beckham in the Office of Estate and Gift Planning at 731-989-6946.
- It takes a minimum of $30,000 to fund an Endowed Scholarship. This amount ensures that there will be enough principal invested to produce enough interest income to pay out the benefits of the Scholarship.
- Once the Scholarship is funded with the minimum $30,000 it can begin to payout benefits at a rate of 5 percent per year. Only the income from the principal is expended in accordance with the University's spending rules.
