About
What is HORIZONS?
Horizons is a week-long spiritual experience for Christian leaders in grades 7-12 held each
summer on the campus of Freed-Hardeman University. This year we are back to one week on July
5-10, 2009.
This marks the 29th year of the camp that started as the Future Church Leaders Workshop. The
focus that started the program continues to this day as we strive to create an encouraging
environment that works to equip young church leaders. This year, that legacy continues.
Horizons is directed by David Powell, assistant dean of the School of Biblical Studies and Hope
Shull, director of Loden-Daniel Library. They are assisted by David Baker, Kim Cook, Chris
Creecy, Brad Montague and Becky Welch and an excellent staff of more than 100 teachers and
counselors.
