Hardware Specifications
The Apple MacBooks that FHU provides will enable our students to maximize their productivity by giving them the most compatible system available combined with the ability to run multiple operating systems using Apple's BootCamp Software.
With BootCamp, our students can choose to run Apple Mac OS X (Leopard) or Microsoft Windows Vista. Students will be able to run the current Microsoft Office suite on either platform, Office 2008 for Mac and Office 2007 for Windows.
The MacBook also comes with Apple's iLife software suite.

iPhone 3G S (32GB) / iPod Touch (16GB):
Students that choose the iPhone option will be required to activate their phone with AT&T under a personal contract. The iPhone must be activated in order to function. Here are rate plans offered by AT&T: http://www.wireless.att.com/.
We know that students may already have cell phone contracts with other providers or some students may simply choose not to go with the iPhone option. In these cases, they can choose the iPod Touch.
Although these two devices are very similar, you may not be aware of their differences.
Both devices have the following specs:
- Access the internet from a wireless network
- Play your music or movies (your own or ones you have purchased from the iTunes store)
- View photos
- Keep a contact list and calendar
- Play audio through built-in speaker
- Proximity detection through known Wi-Fi access points
- 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display
- Download apps from the iTunes App Store (over 25,000 apps)
In addition to these, the iPhone:
- Can use Edge and 3G cellular networks
- Can send/receive text, SMS, and MMS messages
- Can view stocks, map, and weather
- Has GPS capabilities
- Has an accelerometer sensor
- Has a proximity sensor
- Has an ambient light sensor
- Has external volume buttons
- Has Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
- Can take pictures with built-in 3 Megapixel camera with autofocus
- Has photo-geotagging capabilities
- Has video recording, VGA up to 30 fps with audio
- Has voice control
- Can access the internet from anywhere you receive phone coverage
- Will cost at least $59.99 a month (before FHU discount) for an AT&T voice and data plan
