FHU Plans Homecoming 5K Run

Freed-Hardeman University celebrates its annual homecoming Nov. 4-10. Additions to this year’s slate of activities include a 5-kilometer run and a one-mile walk benefitting Mid-South Youth Camp and a pancake breakfast hosted by the FHU Associates.

The 5k run will begin Nov. 10 in front of the auxiliary gym adjacent to Brewer Sports Center on campus. The route will loop around campus and finish at the auxiliary gym. The one-mile walk, in honor of Dr. Joe Delay, will start shortly after the race begins in the same place as the 5k run. Registration for either event will be $20, if registered before Nov. 1. Registering beforehand will also guarantee a t-shirt. Registering after Nov. 1 will cost $25. Forms to register can be found at www.fhu.edu/homecoming/homecoming5k.aspx or by going to www.fhu.edu/homecoming and clicking on the homecoming link.

The run is also tied to another new event, the Associates’ pancake breakfast. Registering for the 5k run or one-mile walk also admits one to the breakfast. For those who just want to eat, the breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children three years old or younger. The breakfast benefits student scholarships at FHU.
