FHU's 2011 Homecoming Court Announced

The Freed-Hardeman University Student Alumni Association has recently announced the representatives on the 2011 homecoming court. The freshman, sophomore and junior classes each voted for two boys and two girls to represent their class. The senior class selected three boy and three girl representatives; the senior representatives will be in the running compete for homecoming king and queen. The coronation of the king and queen will take place at the homecoming banquet Friday, Nov. 11. The court will be presented during halftime of the Lady Lions’ basketball game, which begins at 1:00 Saturday, Nov. 12.

The freshman class representatives are Midly Jadis, Christean Covington, Staci Parker and Joy Wright. Jadis is a business major from Davenport, Fla. Covington is a Bible major from Pelham, Ala. Parker is a nursing major from Knoxville, Tenn. Wright is a special education major from Columbia, Tenn.

The sophomore class representatives are Jake Boro, Mitchell Bazzel, Brittany Haughton and Lacie Shannon. Boro is a philosophy major from Fayetteville, Ga. Bazzel is a marketing major and photography minor from Decatur, Ala. Haughton is a social work major from West Point, Miss. Shannon is a finance and missions major from Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

The junior class representatives are Lincoln Stemler, Justin Hammond, Mary Rachel Leach and Halle Futrell. Stemler is a philosophy and criminal justice major from Jeffersonville, Ind. Hammond is a social work major from Nolensville, Tenn. Leach is a public relations major and marketing minor from Dickson, Tenn. Futrell is a child and family studies and early childhood education major from Hoover, Ala.

The senior class representatives who will be in the running for homecoming king are Andrew Ashley, Travis Young and Matt Collins. Ashley is a Bible and exercise science major from Durant, Okla. He is the son of Patrick and Ruth Ann Ashley. Young is a communication major and youth ministry minor from McMinnville, Tenn. He is the son of Tim and Tammy Young. After graduation, Young plans to get a job and marry Whitney Carter. Collins is a Bible major from Mt. Juliet, Tenn. He is the son of Don and Kelly Collins. After graduation, Collins plans to pursue a career in the ministry.

The senior class representatives who will be in the running for homecoming queen are Bailey Hester, Brittany Peppers and Sarah McReynolds. Hester is a child and family studies and psychology major from Madison, Ala. She is the daughter of Mark and Missy Hester. After graduation, Hester plans to pursue a career that involves working with children, whether that be social work, counseling or mission work. Peppers is an elementary education major from Florence, Ala. She is the daughter of Phillip and Cynthia Peppers. After graduation, Peppers plans to take a mission trip to Honduras, teach kindergarten in Knoxville, serve in the church as a Bible class teacher and start a family. McReynolds is a biology major from New Orleans, La. She is the daughter of Warren and Rachel McReynolds. After graduation, McReynolds plans to attend veterinary school.
