Associates to Host Victorian Tea Party

The Freed-Hardeman University Associates will host the 13th annual Victorian Tea Party Saturday, May 2, at the historic Hardeman House, located on White Avenue in Henderson. Ladies of all ages are invited to come between noon and 4:00pm for a delightful return to yesteryear.

Venues in the Hardeman House and on the grounds will include Teatime Around the World, Victorian Fashion Design, Tea for Two Paper Crafting and a handwork venue. The youngest ladies may choose the dress-up area. Croquet and shuffleboard may be played on the lawn. A portrait photographer will be on hand for family and individual portraits. Tea-related gifts may be purchased at the Tea Boutique.

This year’s menu will feature Lemony-Dill Cucumber Sandwiches, Tropical Tea Sandwiches, Berry Buttermilk Scones, Savory Ham and Cheese Scones, Fairy Bites, Orange Poppy seed Ricotta Cookies, Brigadeiros and seasonal fruit. Featured teas will be Dorian Grey, Jasmine Orchard and “Pretty in Pink” Iced Tea.

Tickets are available at the welcome center in FHU’s Gardner Center and at Knoell Family Dentistry in Henderson or by calling 731-989-6000.  They are also available online at fhu.edu/associates/teaparty. Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children aged 3-10. Tickets purchased at the door will be $18 and $12. Proceeds from the tea party help to fund scholarships at FHU.
