OCTOBER 31, 2013
United States United States Representative Marsha Blackburn will speak at Freed-Hardeman University Friday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m. in Loyd Auditorium.
Blackburn has received national media attention this week in her role as vice chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. She aggressively questioned Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Oct. 30 during her appearance before the committee to answer questions about the failed Healthcare.gov website and the Affordable Care Act.
Blackburn pressed Sebelius to explain the termination of some individual health insurance plans when the President had promised Americans they would be able to keep their current plans if they so desired.
Following her presentation, Blackburn will meet briefly with FHU students majoring in law and politics.
