Board Requests 10 Days of Prayer

Henderson, Tenn. - Oct 24, 2016

The Freed-Hardeman University Board of Trustees held their regular meeting in Henderson Friday, Oct. 21, 2016. In addition to other university business, they discussed the work of the board’s succession committee. This follows Dr. Joe Wiley’s announcement that he will retire effective June 1, 2017 (http://www.fhu.edu/news/wiley-announces-retirement).

John Law, chairman, shared a request from the board following the Oct. 21 meeting. He asked that students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, donors and friends join the trustees in 10 days of prayer, specifically focused on the selection process. Law stated, "Our board of trustees believes that every good thing begins with prayer. During these 10 days, we ask all who love FHU to pray that God will guide us to the next leader of our university." The board has designated the 10 days as Tuesday, Oct. 25 through Thursday, Nov. 3.
