FHU Art Profesor to Exhibit Work Locally

MARCH 6, 2014

The artwork of Freed-Hardeman University’s Brian Bundren will be displayed in the Bulliner Clayton Visual Arts Center March 13-April 12. The opening reception and artist’s talk are scheduled for March 13, beginning at 5 p.m.

Bundren’s show, titled “Recent Paintings,” will feature oil on canvas and oil on panel paintings. Several of the paintings were included in his 2012 Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibit. “Each painting metaphorically represents human flaws or failed experiences through various objects, landscapes or elements of wood combined with the human figure,” Bundren said.

In addition to teaching painting and drawing courses, Bundren serves as a sponsor of the art guild at FHU.

The “Recent Paintings” exhibit is free to the public. Hours for the art gallery are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
