Henderson, Tenn. - May 05, 2015

The newest edition of Colloquium Mathematicum, a journal devoted to the publication of original mathematics research, will include the work of Freed-Hardeman University’s Dr. Jared Collins. Collins’ paper, a collaborative piece titled, “An Alpern Tower Independent of a Given Partition,” contributes to the basics of ergodic theory.

An assistant professor of mathematics at FHU, Collins received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the university in 2008. He then earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Memphis. In addition to teaching, Collins conducts research in the field of complex dynamics.

Colloquium Mathematicum is a journal overseen by the Institute of Mathematics in the Polish Academy of Sciences. The journal has been in print since 1947, with four volumes being published annually.
