FHU Students to Present "The Doll House"

JANUARY 31, 2013

Freed-Hardeman University Theatre will present Henrick Ibsen’s “The Doll House” Feb. 7-9 at the Black Box Theatre. Lucy Lopez, senior theatre major from Bethel Springs, will direct the play.

The play tells the story of Nora, who strives to be the perfect wife and mother, although she has been raised to believe that she is nothing more than a lovely decoration in the lives of powerful men. When her secrets are revealed, however, her husband fails to shield her. It is then that Nora must decide who she really is and whom she serves.

Lopez has theatre experience as an actress, costume designer, hair and makeup artist, set designer, and now director.

The cast includes Alaina Smith as Nora Helmer, Jesse Pitts as Torvald Helme, Kevin Record as Dr. Rank, Maddie Alden as Kristine Linde, Robby Robertson as Nils Krogstad, Stefanie Miller as Anne-Marie and Rachel Lankford as Helene.

Performances are set for Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at fhutickets.com. For more information, contact theatre@fhu.edu.
