OCTOBER 1, 2013
The 23rd Annual Association of Christian Education Preparation Programs conference will be conducted at Freed-Hardeman University’s Memphis campus Oct. 3-5. The ACEPP is comprised of teachers from colleges and universities associated with churches of Christ.
In response to the changes and challenges facing schools today, the theme for this year’s conference will be “Preparing a Better Future: Revisiting Servant Leadership.” The theme will explore the importance of positive change and support through student motivational beliefs, meeting the challenges of Common Core and preparing students to be more culturally responsive.
The conference will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, with a dinner at the Bucy Center. Friday’s schedule includes a devotional, four informative sessions and a panel discussion. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Civil Rights Museum and explore downtown Memphis.
Teacher education programs from nine colleges and universities plan to attend the ACEPP conference. To learn more about the teacher education program at FHU, visit fhu.edu/academics/colleges/educationAndBehavioralSciences/education.
