FHU Hosts Annual Administrators Technology Academy

The Freed-Hardeman University College of Education in conjunction with the West Tennessee Educational Technology Association hosted the Administrators’ Technology Academy, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 in FHU’s Brown-Kopel Building.

The day included a keynote address by Dr. Phillip Hickman, superintendent of schools in Columbus, Mississippi, since 2014. He has implemented and advocates #Go Open for educational materials. A campaign by the U.S. Department of Education, #Go Open encourages states, school districts and educators to utilize openly licensed educational materials and those in the public domain.

The Administrators Technology Academy (ATA), sponsored by TETA, is held annually at three regional locations.  The event seeks to inform administrators of new and innovative ways to implement technology with the goal of improving student learning.  TASL and CEO credit were available for participants. 

This marked the 10th year FHU has hosted the annual event.
