FHU to Welcome New Students August 15

Henderson, Tenn. - Aug 06, 2015

Freed-Hardeman University will welcome new students Saturday morning, August 15, when they move into the residence halls. Returning students, faculty and staff will extend a “helping hand” to assist with the moving in process.

Following move-in, students and their families are invited to attend Welcome Home in Heritage Commons. Two areas, FHU 101 and West Tennessee 101, will feature exhibits and booths describing their services. FHU 101 will feature university organizations and West Tennessee 101 will showcase local business and Chamber of Commerce members. Displays will be open from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Businesses are asked to provide some sort of give-away or coupon for freshmen and an item for a gift package. The winner of the gift package will be chosen by a drawing from names of students who visited a specific number of the booths.

New students and their families are invited to a cookout in the commons from 11:00am to 1:30pm.

Businesses or organizations interested in having a booth should contact Ryan Malecha at 731-989-6022 or rmalecha@fhu.edu.
