Freed-Hardeman University Names Mr. and Miss FHU

Freed-Hardeman University announced Mr. and Miss Freed-Hardeman University 2016 Monday, March 14, during chapel. Will Cobb and Amber Pippin were selected by the faculty and staff based on their character, influence, involvement, leadership and academic ability. They are considered to be the seniors who best embody the spirit of FHU.

Cobb is a nursing major from Petersburg, Tennessee. He is a member of Phi Kappa Alpha and has been president, vice president, and homecoming representative of the club. He’s served as vice president and president of the Student Nurses Association. He is also a part of the Tennessee Association of Student Nurses Board of Directors. Cobb has also been involved with Alpha Chi Honor Society and Interface.

Pippin is a dual BBA/MBA accounting major from Dickson, Tennessee. She has been a coordinator and chief financial officer for social club Theta Nu. She is an officer in the Tennessee Society of Certified Professional Accountants, as well as a student member in the Society of Future Accountants which she served as treasurer, vice-president and president.

Other nominees for Mr. FHU included Jordan Newby, biology major from Knoxville, Tennessee, and Austen Oakley, Bible major from Florence, Alabama.

Also nominated for Miss FHU were Katie Yenawine, undergraduate finance major and master’s business administration major from Jackson, Tennessee, and Julia Tesh, studio art major from Clemmons, North Carolina.
