Freed-Hardeman Unveils New Athletic Logo

Henderson, Tennessee - Aug 18, 2017

Freed-Hardeman University has unveiled a new athletic logo, the result of a year of collaboration among athletes, staff and a creative team.

In discussing the launch, FHU President David Shannon said, “Athletics is important to life at Freed-Hardeman; it ignites unity, builds excitement and shapes the lives of student athletes. This refreshed identity represents the excellence that we see on the court and field and in the classroom from our student athletes and coaches.”

Mike McCutchen, athletic director, added, “We wanted the logo to have a more modern look and be unique to Freed-Hardeman, and we’ve achieved that.” He said the campus will begin the process of changing the logo on athletic uniforms, signs and all media platforms. “There will be a transition time, but the first place people will notice the change will be the website and social media,” he said. “I appreciate all of the work from Jason Bramblett and the committee.”

One of the students on the committee was softball player Jenna Graham, who graduated in May. In discussing her role, she said, “I had a great time working alongside the committee and Bramblett Group. We wanted a logo FHU Athletics would be proud to wear, and I think we achieved that goal.”

Bramblett Group owner Jason Bramblett facilitated work between the committee and the BG staff. “Our team is grateful to President Wiley, President Shannon, Athletic Director Mike McCutchen, the athletic staff, student athletes and committee members who invested their time in this project. During the past year, they helped with research, reviewed concepts and provided feedback — beginning with hundreds of initial sketches and ending with final marks to meet the needs of each sport. As a community member and an FHU baseball alumnus, I’m excited about the way this identity builds on FHU Athletics’ legacy.”
