MARCH 5, 2014
The Freed-Hardeman University College Republicans will host Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett in a meeting Thursday, March 13. The event, open to FHU students and the community, will begin at 6 p.m. in Ayers Auditorium.
After serving 10 years as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, Hargett was elected Secretary of State in 2009. He has since striven to make transparency a priority in state government. During the meeting, Hargett plans to discuss current issues in the state and address students interested in pursuing a career in politics.
Chick-fil-A and desserts will be provided following the discussion.
“This will be an excellent opportunity for students and community members to hear from and speak with a high-ranking Tennessee official,” Hunter Yoches, president of the College Republicans, said. “Secretary Hargett embodies the strong conservative values that the FHUCRs strive to follow and promote.”
