Disney Legacy Recipient, FHU Alumnus and Henderson Native John McCall to Speak at FHU Oct. 26

John McCall, a writer at Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group, the in-house advertising agency for Disney Parks and Resorts, will speak at Freed-Hardeman Monday, Oct. 26. Part of the alumni series, McCall will speak at FHU’s daily chapel service at 10:30am in Loyd Auditorium. The chapel service is open to the public. He also will address students in selected classes that day.

Earlier this year, McCall was awarded the Disney Legacy Award, the highest achievement presented by the company. The award is determined by nominations from peers and cast members. He also has been recognized by the American Advertising Awards, the Andy Awards and the London International Advertising Awards. In addition to his career with Disney, McCall has done work for companies such as Nike and Goo Goo Cluster.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel McCall of Henderson, McCall is a graduate of Chester County High School. He received his B.A. in communication from FHU in 1993. His wife, Holly Sewell McCall, also graduated from FHU. They reside in Winter Garden, Florida with their three children.

McCall is one of three speakers who are part of the alumni series planned by Dr. Wayne Scott this semester. Henderson native and FHU alumnus, Royce Webb, who works with ESPN, will speak Nov. 16. Author and alumna Annalisa Daughety spoke Oct. 19. For more information, visit www.fhu.edu.
