Mid-South Youth Camp to Host Fishing Rodeo May 7

Mid-South Youth Camp will host its 20th annual youth fishing rodeo May 7, 2016. Registration for the rodeo will be at Mid-South from 8:00 - 8:45am with fishing beginning at 9:00am and finishing at 1:00pm. The $15 entry fee per child is payable at registration, and this will be a no size or species limit rodeo.

All competitors are responsible for their own rods and reels; however, no more than two rods may be used. Fishermen may bring their own bait, but R&J Feed from Jackson will also be on hand to sell tackle and lures. Concessions will be provided all day and stringers will be given to competitors at registration.

Prizes will be awarded in three age groups: ages 5 - 8, ages 9 - 12, and ages 13 - 16. For each division’s first place winner there will be a $150 prize; for second place, a $125 prize; and for third place, a $100 prize. There will also be a $50 bounty for the first person to catch an albino catfish. All proceeds of this rodeo go to help support Mid-South Youth Camp. The camp in located on Hwy 45 North.
