Local Students Receive Awards
Freed-Hardeman University presented awards to two local students at the school’s annual Awards Day. Mark Shiers received the Baker Book House Award and Desiree Sadler was named the Outstanding Student in Criminal Justice.
Shiers is a senior Bible major. The Baker Bookhouse Award is presented annually to the top Bible major in the graduating class. Sadler, a senior criminal justice major, is the daughter of Phil Russell and Monica Russell.
Freed Hardeman University is a private, four-year university located in Henderson, Tenn. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees, FHU has been consistently listed in the top tier of U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Regional Universities—South” category, as well as its “Great Schools, Great Prices” list.
