QUEST is...
a summer camp for bright, talented, and creative young people in grades 9-11 who want to interact with others who share their passion for art and/or science.
QUEST provides the resources and personnel to help students grow in knowledge and develop their artistic talents. Students who participate in QUEST will leave FHU with a greater appreciation for their discipline and valuable information about how to pursue these interests once they enter college.
With the academic enhancement that occurs while campers enjoy fun social activities and making wonderful friends, QUEST is a great way to spend a summer week!
Science QUEST is...
a week filled with fun, challenging science activities and experiments.
Professors from the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics and Computer Science create unique experiments each day.
This diveristy allows students to experience different areas of science so they can narrow their academic focus as they move toward college.
Fine Arts QUEST is...
a collaborative effort of the Art, Music, and Theatre Programs to offer students the
opportunity to experience the arts and the unique creative impulses that lie within each student.
For students who like to "think outside the box," it's an opportunity to be around young artists who think alike and share a passion for writing.
The goal of Fine Arts QUEST 2013 will be to create a "living" comic book containing audio, musical scores, illustrations, and photographs. ART QUESTers will learn the process of getting a concept to a finished product through storyboarding, scripting, sound effects,
choreography, illustrating, photographing, and scoring. Students will have an opportunity to use technology to edit a final comic book which will be a collaborative product bringing the comic to life!
