FHU Theatre Presents 'The Dollhouse'

The play tells the story of Nora, striving to be the perfect wife and mother, although she has been raised to believe that she is no more than decoration in the lives of men.

Freed-Hardeman University Theatre presented Henrick Ibsen’s “The Doll House” Feb. 7-9 at the Black Box Theatre. Lucy Lopez, senior theatre major from Bethel Springs, directed the play.

The play tells the story of Nora, who strives to be the perfect wife and mother, although she has been raised to believe that she is nothing more than a lovely decoration in the lives of powerful men. When her secrets are revealed, however, her husband fails to shield her. It is then that Nora must decide who she really is and whom she serves.

Lopez has been an actress, a costume designer, a hair and makeup artist, and a set designer. This was her first experience as a director.

The cast included Alaina Smith as Nora Helmer, Jesse Pitts as Torvald Helme, Kevin Record as Dr. Rank, Maddie Alden as Kristine Linde, Robby Robertson as Nils Krogstad, Stefanie Miller as Anne-Marie and Rachel Lankford as Helene.
