FHU MBA Program Nationally Ranked

FHU's Master of Business Administration program has been ranked by MBAOnline.com at No. 15 in the nation.

Freed-Hardeman University’s online Master of Business Administration program has been ranked among the nation's top online programs by MBAOnline.com. FHU's program came in at No. 15 in the rankings. It was the only such program in West Tennessee to be mentioned in the rankings. In fact, only one other Tennessee program was included on the list, Tennessee Tech at No. 26.

MBAOnline says, “One of the top criteria used to rank schools is the affordability of the education, including tuition rates and financial aid option. Affordability also boils down to how long it takes to complete a program and how many credits are required to earn a degree."

Other factors included in the ranking are reputation and prestige, academic quality, faculty profiles, diversity of the student body, and resources available to students beyond the virtual classroom.

FHU President Joe Wiley described himself as "very pleased" by the recognition. "It is gratifying that others are noticing the high academic quality of the education, as well as its grounding in sound moral and ethical principles, being offered here."

Dr. Tom De Berry of the FHU graduate program in business, said, "I am very grateful for MBAOnline's ranking of our program—placing it in very good company among other strong programs with well-known, even prestigious, universities. I am very pleased with what we have been able to accomplish with our MBA program in the relatively short number of years of its existence. I am especially happy that we are able to provide with the online format a personal, supportive relationship with our MBA students to help them to achieve their academic and professional goals—just as we do with the face-to-face format on campus."

The MBA at FHU is a 36-hour program that can be earned in an online format, an on-campus format, or in a combination of the two formats. Included in those 36 hours are 9 hours (3 courses) in an emphasis chosen by the student—accounting, corporate responsibility, or leadership. The MBA at FHU offers 8-week academic terms, with five starting dates each calendar year (January, March, May, August, and October). Additional information about the FHU MBA program may be obtained by contacting De Berry or by visiting the university website at fhu.edu/theMBA.
