Freed-Hardeman University president David R. Shannon opened the Connect Conference Wednesday evening, June 2, 2021, at the Crieve Hall Church of Christ in Nashville.
Focused on making disciples, the conference ran June 2-5 with sessions throughout the day and a keynote address each evening. In addition to Crieve Hall, two other congregations cooperated to present the event, Concord Road and Mt. Juliet.
The conference opened with a packed auditorium for a period of congregational singing prior to Shannon’s lesson. It concluded with a lesson Saturday evening by FHU alumnus Keith Parker. Sandwiched in between were seven sessions between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Organizers plan to make the conference an annual event.
Prior to the worship service, a large group of FHU alumni, friends and prospective students gathered in the fellowship hall for a light reception. Shannon spoke briefly as folks connected with one another and the university.
